Money Multiplier Challenge Results

Money Multiplier Challenge Results

We’re thrilled to announce that a staggering £4,892.70 was raised during the Money Multiplier Challenge for our Charities of the Year: Dementia UK and Pudsey Community Project. Seven teams from across the business were tasked with multiplying an initial £50 investment provided by G&H and to make as much profit as possible in just four weeks. Our teams went above and beyond with creative fundraising efforts - from car washes and breakfast clubs to raffles and even launching a sweet shop!  The Accounts & Admin team raised an impressive £1,460 and were crowned our Money Multiplier Champions.

G&H Marks Mental Health Awareness Week

G&H Marks Mental Health Awareness Week

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week (12 - 18 May 2025) our office-based colleagues took part in a Wellness Walk. The two-mile walk around Pudsey aimed to encourage colleagues to spend time in nature to enhance physical and mental well-being, reduce stress, improve mood, foster a sense of community, and to encourage them to talk.

Cold Water Exposure Session

Cold Water Exposure Session

As part of our ongoing wellbeing programme, on Saturday 7 June, in collaboration with Andy’s Man Club, a group of colleagues took part in a unique cold water exposure experience designed to boost mental resilience, reduce stress, and promote overall wellbeing. Delivered by Wild Minds Wellness, the session provided colleagues with valuable insights into the science behind cold water therapy, guidance on how to safely practise ‘dipping’ at home, and the opportunity to bravely complete a 10-minute ice bath submersion at G&H headquarters.

Students learn about construction apprenticeships

Students learn about construction apprenticeships

During National Careers Week, representatives from G&H visited both Bradford College and Leeds College of Building to deliver careers talks focused on the wide range of roles available within the construction industry. We showed the students the range of vacancies that we have available for apprenticeships, as well as providing guidance on CV writing and tips for the interview process.

Investing in our local community

Investing in our local community

Katie Hardisty, our social value consultant, recently joined Debbie Watson from Caddick Construction to spend a morning at Pudsey Community Project which exists to transform Pudsey and its surrounding areas, especially for those who are most disadvantaged and vulnerable. Working alongside students from Pudsey Sixth Form College, we sorted through clothes which had been donated to the project so that they could then be distributed to families in need across the local area.

Charity fundraising with a healthy side of competitive spirit

Charity fundraising with a healthy side of competitive spirit

At the start of April, we launched our ‘Money Multiplier’ charity initiative in aid of Dementia UK and the Pudsey Community Project. Eight teams within G&H each received a £50 investment from the company, with the challenge of using that creatively to multiple it and raise as much as possible for the two charities before Friday 2nd May. We’ve heard talk of raffles, car washes, sweet shop enterprises and even enjoyed some delicious breakfasts so we’ll look forward to finding out which team has raised the most money in just over a week – watch this space for an update!

West London College

West London College Construction Careers Sessions

We delivered three construction career sessions at West London College for students studying Level 2 plumbing, electrical, and multi-skill courses on February 4th and 5th. The sessions provided insights into G&H, CV writing tips, and interview techniques. As part of this partnership, we’ve identified two students who will undertake work experience during National Careers Week (March 3-8 2025).

Leeds College

Leeds College of Building Site Visit and Workshop

In partnership with Kier, we hosted an ‘Introduction to G&H’ workshop and a site visit to Leeds Town Hall for multi-skilled students at Leeds College of Building. The visit enriched the students’ curriculum by offering insights into the building’s history and providing a firsthand look at the roles of both main contractors and subcontractors. One student will be undertaking work experience during National Careers Week following this opportunity.

Bradford College

Engineering Insight Day with Bradford College

On Friday, February 14th, we partnered with Bradford College to host our Engineering Insight Day, offering Level 1 welding students an immersive experience at our fabrication workshop. The students spent the day learning from industry professionals, gaining valuable insights into the welding industry. There was a thrilling hands-on welding competition with Megan Morris (17) crowned the winner!

Investing in Young People

Through our work experience programme, demonstrations, and workshops for training providers and community groups, plus our partnership with BFT, we are committed to helping the next generation secure employment in the construction industry.

Promoting Good Health & Wellbeing

Our aim is to support our people’s physical health and mental wellbeing. We offer volunteering opportunities, a chance to work alongside our charity partners, and be involved with our Gran Fondo annual bike ride and Wellness Walks.

Looking after our Communities

Communities are at the heart of everything we do. To further support the MEP projects we deliver, we partner with local organisations to create meaningful social value. We have supported charity partners such as Martin House Hospice, providing pro bono MEP services for its new sanctuary space, and made food donations to Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises in Leeds.

Caring for our World

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and building a more sustainable business. Our goals for energy usage, waste, and travel will be supported by environmental initiatives throughout the year, including the launch of our ‘Green Fingers’ campaign in 2025.
